Submissive and Halloween-y

I have submitted to Glimmer Train on this, the eve of NaNoWriMo. The next month will be full of a lot of bad writing and hopefully some good to really good writing. Pressure brings out the genius in me.

Tonight I went to Spring Grove, IL to take some friends to a haunted corn maze. Richardson Farm. Before we left, we stopped at the store to buy some candy. By some candy I mean at least 5 lbs. We needed rations for the hour and a half car ride. They'd never been to a corn maze so we had to go. It was cold and fun and they sold apple cider and all that and I think they had a few 10 year-olds working in the fields. The moon was pretty full and the night was clear. High School girls made fun of the ghouls. Everyone stayed in character for the most part. Krista wasn't prepared for the cold so I gave her my hat and gloves. She forced me to hold her hand because she was so scared of the maze. Not only had she not ever been to a corn maze before tonight, she has never been to a haunted house EVER.

Afterwards I ate a Whopper.

After that I sent out my story and drank a beer. People talked outside. Cars rattled by. Leaves blew down the sidewalk accompanied by wrappers and masks. Tomorrow morning I will find soggy candy on the ground.
