NaNoWriMo Day 10

17,421 words!

I've been really trying to make this a decent piece even though I have barely any idea where it's going. So far I've been doing a lot of thinking at work. Thinking that doesn't involve coffee whatsoever. It feels good to think of something I'm working on and not something I plan to work on in the future.

The real test is going to come this weekend when I head down to Carbondale, IL. Four long days without my computer. I will be writing by hand when I have time. It would be nice to see Kent Haruf. One can dream. Maybe I'll stalk around campus a bit. Maybe I won't even set foot near SIU. I don't really know anything about Carbondale. I know there wine down there. And meth. And a fair amount of racism. Should be a blast though. I'm sure I will have some pictures up next week of all my adventures on the South side of IL.

Also, you should pre-order David Peak's chapbook Museum of Fucked. It's being put out by the people at Warm Milk Printing Press.

Speaking of coffee, I tried the cold press today, and Caribou-guy told me that there isn't any more caffeine in it than the regular brew! But then he saw I was disappointed and told me there is a ton of caffeine in it and I felt better. Have fun getting out of the city! Maybe while you're gone, I'll catch up to your word count :)
